We are a small Cylch Meithrin with a capacity of 16 children per session. We welcome children from the age of 2 until school age. We are inspected by CIW and we are Foundation Phase Nursery providers therefore we are also inspected by Estyn. The Cylch is governed by a committee of parents which are volunteers and employ 4 members of qualified and professional staff plus occasionally bank staff. We ensure that the staff attend regular training to further their experience. parents are more than welcome to contact the Cylch to organise a visit to meet the staff.
Activities:
We give every child the opportunity to participate in every activity. They play, learn and grow through the Welsh language. The doors are open in all kinds of weather and the children can wear wet suits and wellies. We have a very large outdoor area which offers many different activities. The outdoor area offers opportunities to climb, explore, plant and harvest fruits and vegetables, they ride bikes, mark making and counting. The children love cooking in the mud kitchen and use scissors to cut herbs. We have a large shed in the outdoor area which we change the theme every term.
The shed has been a Santa’s Grotto, Holiday Shop, Ioga Shed and an Igloo. We also have a wooden work bench where the 3 year old children get to create their own unique items. It teaches them independence, hand eye coordination and risk taking by using hammers, saws etc. Inside the children have opportunities to paint, draw pictures, play in the little kitchen, use educational Welsh apps on the ipad and on the big IT screen. We have different opportunities every week on the tuff tray too.
During circle time we practice name writing with the children, discuss feelings, sing and have a story. The children take part by singing in the village hall when the community organise different events. The children also have the chance to go to the local primary school for transition days and do some activities there. We also go on various trip during the year.

I did my level 3 in childcare straight after school. I started working voluntarily as bank staff . will have been working as assistant for 3 years this year. I love being outdoors and anything crafty, if your children come home in glitter that was probably my fault ! In my spare time I love camping and being near the sea and anything that involves being with my children. I’m currently training to be a forest school leader. Bringing forest school sessions to Cylch Meithrin Bont is something I’m very excited about.
